Aloha. I was raised between Waimea, the Big Island of Hawaii and Sonoma County, California and have been living in Copenhagen, Denmark for nearly thirty years. I returned to our beloved Island to be closer to family and then…. Covid! BAM! Talk about getting closer with your family!

When Covid hit our nation, I felt a calling to bring comfort to my community and so came the birth of the State of Grace Pie Club focusing on affordable, gourmet, savory pies. Who knew that pot pies would be such a hit here in Hawaii? Although I come form a long matriachical line of great cooks and exceptional women, my love affair with food started when I spent summers at my grandparents fishing resort and restaurant, Camp Prattville, in Lake Almanor California. My Grandmother Carol shared her love of pie making and gave me the Pie Pusher bug.

During and just after college I dabbled in and out of amazing places like The Ritz Carlton Mauna Lani, Glen Ellen Winery, Asst. Director of Catering at Campton Place Hotel in San Francisco and Pastry Chef at the Seattle based Cafe Ladro. When I moved to Denmark I opened and operated one of Denmarks first full service production companies, GraceLand Productions, where I had opportunity to work with some of Europes finest food and advertising photographers and I used this as a platform to stay in touch with my food obsession by writing three cookbooks for the Danes focusing on American desserts, comfort foods and Danish Desserts. I have been published multiple times in some of Denmarks coolest food magazines and was Chef, and owner of Denmarks first sweet pie shop.  

I am passionate about my tribe, meeting new people, feeding people, my dog and of course the love of my life, my daughter Emma.

As State of Grace continues to grow, I am thrilled to participate in the revitalization of the local economy and am humbled and proud to be a part of making Hawaii become its best self again with sustainable food sources and new, fresh, dynamic job opportunities.

My relaxed approach to life and love of food have proven time and time again that great food is the glue that brings people together. Feeding your soul is my passion.
